Here are some tips for reading the Parts Manual PDF documents in Microsoft® Internet Explorer (IE) with the Adobe®  Reader® 7.

1. IE Menus, Forward and Back

Use Internet Explorer's Back and Forward buttons to go from any page in the PDF document, back to the Liftgate Model Jump Page.

2.  Acrobat® Reader®  Menu

Print:  Use this to print a page.  Be sure to select "Print Current Page."  More info here.

Search:  Displays the search pane, displaying all occurrences of the term you searched for.

Find:  Use this to search the PDF file for any text.  If a part number is known, just type it in here and any occurrences, in page order, of that part number will be found.  Find Previous: Find the previous search term in the document from the current location.  Find Next: Find the next search term in the document from the current location. 

     Note:  If Find is not on your toolbar, you can enable it by right clicking on the toolbar and selecting Find. 

Hand Tool:  Lets you select objects and click on links within the document.

Zoom In/Out Tool:  Use this tool to zoom in or out by just clicking anywhere on the page.  (Use the drop down arrow to select zoom out.)  To zoom in or out of a specific area, select the tool and click on the page, and then drag the cursor in the area you wish to zoom.

Zoom Out:  Click this to zoom out by 25%.

Zoom In:  Click this to zoom in by 25%.

3.  Bookmarks

Use the PDF document's bookmarks to navigate quickly.  The liftgate series will be indicated at the top.  Liftgate Section Jump Pages will be indicated by bold text.  

The Liftgate Section Jump Pages also have collapsible submenus, which are opened by clicking the + sign next to the book mark, or by clicking - to close the submenu.

 

Note:  If the bookmarks are not displayed, click on the Bookmarks tab on the upper left.  If the bookmarks window disappears when a bookmark is clicked, click on the triangle next to Bookmark above the navigation pane, and deselect "Hide after use."

 

 

 

 

 

The Section Specific PM's are listed in the submenu of that section.

4.  Page Number and PDF Document Links

PDF Page Links:  Use these links to go to the Jump Page or PM indicated.  All links appear in blue.

PDF Page Popup Tips:  When the mouse is moved over these, a popup box will appear with some information.  All popup tips appear in dark blue.

First Page:  Use this to go to the first page of the PDF document.

Previous Page: Use this to move to the previous page in numerical order. 

Current Page Number:  This displays the page that is currently being viewed and how many pages are in the document.  To jump to a specific page, type in the page number here.

Next Page:  Use this to move to the next page in numerical order.

Last Page:  Use this to go to the last page of the PDF document.

Previous View:  Use this to go back one view.  (The previous view action reverts you to the most recent view that was displayed in Acrobat Reader.  This includes zooming, page links, etc.)

Next View:  Use this to go to the next view.  (The next view action moves you back to the view you were at before using the previous view action.  This includes zooming, page links, etc.)
